Deathly Times

After nearly 7 months of being inactive, Malaki Alighieri returns with a new release: In Another Life, releasing July 4th on all platforms. Alongside the new song will be the previous three songs released by Malaki Alighieri, all meant for the upcoming album Love After Death.

This song is heavily inspired by indie grunge music and a general 90’s aesthetic, with a slow rhythm and muddled, distorted guitars. The lyrics represent the sin of sloth, specifically about the struggle of being in an unhealthy relationship and not running away. Here’s an exclusive take from the artist themselves about the song:

“This one goes really deep. I had already written a handful of other songs about this relationship, and this serves as the full closure of them all. Not In Neverland, All That I Had, and Love were all songs telling the story here, and In Another Life pulls from all of those in many ways. The music video is an even more direct reference to the song Love, but you’ll just have to wait and see when it drops.”
